'Activism works. No one is too small to make a difference'

AHRAZ focuses on the following activities to achieve its mission and vision:

  • Information management and sharing: AHRAZ will issue, distribute, and disseminate regular, unique, and flash reports about violations of minority rights in Iran to various sources, including UN bodies, Amnesty International, other human rights organizations, and media.
  • Capacity building: AHRAZ will build and enhance the capacity of a local network of information sources inside and outside Iran for systematic information gathering and processing regarding the human rights situation of various minority populations and individuals belonging to Iran.
  • Dialogue center: AHRAZ will attempt to initiate and support a dialogue center for minority rights in Iran.
  • Publications and advocacy: AHRAZ will publish reports, news, books, petitions, and other publications, as well as organizing lectures, seminars, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and meetings as part of broad advocacy for the rights of national, ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities in Iran.
  • Networking and communication: AHRAZ will engage in proactive local, national and international networking to promote and implement the organizational programs, projects, activities, and initiatives.
  • Advisory role: AHRAZ will act as an advisor to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), UN human rights bodies and commissions, Amnesty International, and other human rights organizations and NGOs on the issues related to minority rights in Iran.
  • Training and education: AHRAZ will provide training and educational materials to the Iranian population regarding minority rights and international norms and standards as part of advocacy and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Promotion of Amnesty International: AHRAZ will promote the main activities of Amnesty International, such as defending individuals at risk, especially prisoners of conscience, abolition of the death penalty, fight against torture, discrimination, and disappearances, freedom of expression, rights of indigenous people, and the right to living in dignity.
  • Hosting informative podcasts to raise awareness about the human rights situation of various minority populations in Iran, including the biggest Azerbaijani Turks, and to promote the universal principles and standards of human rights.
  • Conducting interviews with human rights defenders, activists, and victims to document their stories and testimonies, and to raise public awareness about the ongoing human rights abuses in Iran.
  • Social media work to reach a wider audience and to create a platform for engagement and dialogue with the community. This includes managing social media channels, creating and sharing informative and engaging content, and responding to inquiries and comments from the audience.
