Biography
Sina Yousefi was born on September 23, 1984, in Northeast Iran in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan province. He completed his elementary, middle, and high school education in this Tabriz, and in 2005, he entered the field of law at Tabriz Azad University. He started his human rights activities while studying at the university and was arrested by the security forces in the last year of the university (May 19, 2007). After spending 40 days in solitary confinement, the second branch of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz, which at that time was headed by Davood Hamlbar, sentenced him to 6 months of suspended imprisonment for the charge of propaganda against the regime.
Biography
In January 2009, he completed his bachelor's degree and entered Tehran University in the same year, majoring in international law. During his studies in international law, he continued his human rights and press activities and worked for Sharq and Etemad newspapers. He also did many research works as a researcher in the field of citizenship rights, human rights, and international organizations in the international affairs of the presidential institution. In 2015, he was admitted to the East Azerbaijan Bar Association by participating in the bar exam. He joined the Bar Association's Human Rights Commission in his first year of practicing law.
Biography
He created a significant movement in this commission by entering the Human Rights Commission, which has stagnated for years. The commission began to support language rights, political prisoners' rights, the right to a healthy environment, women's rights, and children's cultural and social rights. Many conferences and meetings were held in these fields. He was elected as the vice-chairman of the Human Rights Commission for three consecutive terms and handled more than 200 cases related to political, press, environmental, and women's and children's rights activists.

With the beginning of the protests related to the killing of Mrs. Mahsa Amini by the Iranian police, Sina Yousefi requested an urgent and extraordinary meeting from the Human Rights Commission of the Lawyers Association, and in this meeting, it was proposed to establish a "Defense Committee" to provide legal support to the detainees of the protests, which was accepted. After spending 13 days in Tabriz’s prison on free bail, the first branch of the Revolutionary Court sentenced him to six months imprisonment, banned him from leaving the country for two years, and confiscated all electronic devices. His other accusations of forming an illegal defense committee group and spreading lies are under investigation in the 15 investigations and 112 criminal branches of Tabriz.

He was forced to leave his homeland before the finality of the verdict issued by the Revolutionary Court, and he is currently living in Berlin, Germany.
